Inclusive Education
Grow Flourish Discover
Our vision for Inclusive Education is to achieve excellence together by ensuring all students receive the support they need to meaningfully belong to their school and wider community. We aim for all students to feel valued for their contributions, engage purposefully in learning, and experience academic, cultural, social, and emotional success in a common learning environment.
Our Approach
GEMS Founders School ─ Dubai South (GFD) welcomes children with a range of learning preferences, including:
- Students of determination (students with special education needs and disabilities)
- Gifted and talented students
- English Language Learners
Our staff are committed to educating all students in a common learning environment with similar-aged peers. We believe that diversity is a strength, and we strive to create respectful relationships and fully participate in learning through adjustments and teaching strategies tailored to meet the diverse range of learners.
Sharing Educational Needs
To ensure we can provide the best support, we request that parents share full details of any special educational needs, individual education plans (IEPs), and any Educational Psychologist, Pediatric, or other specialist reports (e.g., Speech and Language or Occupational Therapy) if completed. Providing this information before offering a place ensures we can assess educational needs accurately and implement appropriate educational plans and resources.
Admission Policies
- Admission is not conditional on the submission of a medical diagnosis.
- Effective transition processes are in place for all children, with or without a formal diagnosis.
- Students are not refused admission based solely on their special education need or disability (SEND) experience
- Sibling priority is given for admission to students who experience SEND.
- Staff follow KHDA guidance and procedures in scenarios where it may not be in the best interests of the child to be placed at GEMS Founders School - Dubai South. This information will be shared with the KHDA, following expected procedures.
Due to the current demand for places at GFD, sharing educational history is crucial for ensuring that all students receive the necessary support to thrive in our inclusive environment.
We are dedicated to fostering an inclusive community where every student is valued and supported. Our commitment to inclusive education ensures that all students can achieve their full potential in a diverse and respectful learning environment.
